Lady Bird
Lady bird is a coming of age film, where a seventeen year old girl and her mother have such strong personalities, which that tends to tear them apart.
I believe this film describes so many teenagers’ lives because, just like in the film, we want more than what life offers us. She plays a character where she tries to be somebody else and pretend that she’s rich, and her biggest dream is to go to college, but because her parents can’t afford she then realises she has work harder to be able to live the college experience.
I think she is a really good actress as she gets in the character very well and it seems very realistic. The way she acts makes the audience believe her, because so many people find themselves in this story as they once have been like her.
This is a coming of age because, at seventeen years old, we all realise that life gets real.
In addition to this, the film is set in a small town, which is why she wants to go to college, because she believes there’s more for her out there than her hometown.
