Experiment 1:
For the first experiment, I will create at the end some kind of transition where 2 videos collapse each other and show a flash to make it look like a good ending.
I achieved this by creating this in Premiere Pro using this tutorial which helped me create the transition. I added 2 videos from my footage and I added the transition ”Dip to White” in between them and then above the footage I added another video which was the same one as the second one but I made some modification by cutting more than half of the video so it wouldn’t be so long since the transition is a short fast one.
Experiment 2:
Using after effects, I will add some glass texture to a landscape. I will follow this tutorial to add glass texture to the picture, to make it hard to see clear. The purpose of this experiment is to create a dreamy effect for the part where the atmosphere changes and it adds a bit of a foggy effect.
When the video reached 6:22 minutes, I am going to stop because that is all I want.
After trying to add the glass texture to the video, I decided that it would take longer to edit every single video and make it ‘dreamy like’ so I tried to do it in Premiere Pro and these are the results:
1.After effects:
2.Premiere Pro:
There isn’t much difference regarding the effect so I’ll be using Premiere Pro.
Experiment 3:
For the 3rd project, I want to mask text behind one person to make it look like the ‘ghost’ is sending a message to that specific person.
Experiment 4:
For the 4th experiment, I want to make it look like it’s raining. This is just a random picture I got from the internet and it is a forest because my initial idea was to film somewhere in a forest or in between some trees but then I changed my idea.
After having a second thought about this experiment, I decided that I would not use this effect in my film as it won’t make any sense. Also, in some of the scenes it is obvious that is not really raining.
If I would add rain this is what it would look like in After Effects:
Experiment 5:
I am going to use this tutorial for the ending where the person ‘in the dream’ disappears.
The plan was to use this tutorial to make a character disappear, however after I filmed, I decided that this tutorial won’t work on my footage because I need the background to be clean and since I filmed outside, obviously I can’t do it.
Experiment 6:
I will aim to create a dreamy like effects using the ‘Lumetri Color’: Basic Correction from Premiere Pro.
After trying to find the right settings, these are the final results:
I’ve also used Creative from Premiere Pro to fade out the colour
Experiment 7:
For this experiment I will zoom in at the beginning to show where the visitation/dream starts.
This is the final result:
Experiment 8:
Here I will be making the day look darker to show that the characters don’t have much time to talk and the visitor will leave soon.
To achieve the settings I wanted, I played around with the effects to try to get that darker but still dreamy effect.
These are the settings I used to achieve the darker effect:
I’ve first used Basic Correction from Lumetri Color:
And then I’ve used Creative from Lumetri Color:
Experiment 9:
Following this tutorial, I will be adding glitch to one clip , where everything becomes darker
This is the final result:
